Care lines Editorial
The words “we care” has been used by many and spoken to different peoples from all walks of life. The Pastoral Care Center (PCC) often use these two words to express that we care for our pastors, pastor’s wives, pastor’s kids and lady ministers. Young or old, everybody needs love and care. Retired or still active in the ministry, the basic need for love and care do exists.
The Pastoral Care Center continues to share love and care to our beloved workers and their families as they labor in the vineyard of the Lord. I personally have a knowledge of those pastors who does not even have money to go to the doctor for a medical check up. Others do not have the means to go to the dentist and have their dentures made. Some pastors could not even send their children to college due to financial constraints or it could be because others just did not plan for the college years of their children. Either way, many pastors are in need especially those who are assigned in remote areas.
Today, the Pastoral Care Center has 11 centers in 4 regions and 11 districts of CAMACOP. We had the goal to open 13 pastoral care centers in 23 districts and 2 commissions. The goal has not been reached but we are hoping and praying that there will be more districts and commission that will open pastoral care centers to benefit our local pastors and their family. We would like to decentralize the PCC in Metro Manila, Davao, Zamboanga and South Cotabato to be able to have an easy access to our dear pastors and their families and for a faster and easier distribution of goods to those who are in need.
Help had been extended to different districts and individual pastors and their families as the request came in. The pastor’s kids
were given some bags from a specific sponsor and the rest of the districts will follow suit. Thus far, SMCCD, ZAMBAS, NMD and MMD Pastor’s Kids received the items and were glad to have it.
Several boxes of hand me down items came in and was given to those who needed it most especially during typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. Our heartfelt gratitude to the donors of the said boxes and these are churches and individuals from USA, Japan, Canada and the Philippines. MMD PCC was glad to help repack the goods that came in during typhoon Ondoy. Rev. Benjamin de Jesus, Jr. spearheaded the said operation Ondoy and they were the ones responsible for everything. PCC assisted them in various ways. Those in Southern Tagalog also received the goods through Rev. Lodem Aguilar and Rev. Jun Nuestro. Indeed, many were blessed all because of our donors and sponsors. Praise be to our living God!
The Pastor’s Kids Educational Assistance (PKEA) continues to help a handful of pastor’s kids with the least financial aid. There are three (3) scholars as of the moment but thus far, PKEA was able to help three (3) pastor’s kids who already graduated in different universities and colleges in the country. God be glorified in the lives of these graduates who are now professionals.
Financially, God blessed the Pastoral Care Center and Welfare Fund with the following amounts: 2009- 257,446.75 and in 2010 – 10, 083.75. God continuously supplied our finances indeed through generous individuals and churches. God be praised!
Take heart my dear ministers. Be encouraged by the words of Paul when he said “But my God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). I would like to say that this is the P419 of the pastoral care. We should trust God for everything that we need in life. It is always in trusting in Him that all our needs are met. It could be that the Pastoral Care could help you in the areas of your physical and some material needs. You are welcome to our pastoral care centers in Metro Manila, Metro Davao, Metro Zamboanga and SCMR We are here to help you in one way or the other. We offer our ears to you if you also need somebody to talk to and be rest assured that you will be in our prayers.
